Insulators read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements and select, install and secure vast range of insulation materials (calcium silicate,, mineral wool, glass foam , styrofoam, fiberglass) based on the size, surface characteristics and location of pipes, ductwork and other mechanical systems. Insulators possess the agility to work in confined spaces and are comfortable working at heights in both outdoor and indoor environments under hazardous conditions including the disposal of asbestos insulation. Insulators have an aptitude for precision work, demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity, enjoy working with least supervision and when necessary capable of lifting objects that weigh up to 20 kilograms.
